About ‘Meditation’
Where East meets West... "Alison Krauss meets Ravi Shankar meets Yo-Yo Ma..."
Featuring the virtuosic playing of multi-instrumentalist Tom Prasada-Rao, Cindy's latest CD, ‘Meditation’ pushes the boundaries of her innovative and luscious sound, resulting in a in a hauntingly mesmerizing blend of Americana, world, new age and classical - original compositions and arrangements fusing Eastern and Western musical and spiritual traditions.
The title track offers a unique composition combining Cindy’s resonant 5-string viola playing over crystal singing bowls played by Julie Cisz.
The original idea for the CD came from a desire to fuse select American folk tunes with the enchanting sounds of classical Indian music, which resulted in the distinctly original 4-part composition 'Hard Times Come Again No More' based on the Stephen Foster tune.
The perfect accompaniment for yoga classes, massage, quiet contemplation, and relaxation.

About ‘Stone’s Throw’
“Mournful sounds that rise from the hollows of Appalachia and reverberate with the melodies and traditions of both Medieval and Romantic Europe. The smoky peat fires of the Celts mix with the disciplined heat of full-on symphony. The human condition – bold and beautiful - speaks to us through her music.” ~Blue Sky Green Earth Magazine
