mindfulness Meditation: A Pathway to true freedom & Happiness
A 6-Week virtual Course for Women
"Cindy’s meditation course was absolutely awesome! Everything about it was valuable - the book we used, the gathering of like-minded souls, Cindy’s teachings, the inspiring quotes, and the lifetime meditation experiences. Through the course, I gained greater compassion for myself and others and found more joy in my life.
~ Elizabeth G., University Administrator
Are you seeking greater peace? Deeper happiness? Less stress? More acceptance and compassion - of yourself and/or others? Improved relationships?
These things are always desirable. But today - as we face the concurrent challenges of continuing to move through the coronavirus pandemic, climate change, political divisiveness, and racial justice reckoning - finding inner balance and peace has never been more important.
Mindfulness meditation can bring you all these things—and in so doing, a greater freedom to live life authentically, with meaning, and with deeper joy and reverence.
This series of classes has been carefully designed to help you develop and/or deepen your familiarity with personal meditation and mindfulness practices. Whether you are a brand new beginner, want to deepen an already established practice, or simply want to connect with others as part of your practice, this class will offer you the support and guidance you need to find greater clarity, ease and lovingkindness in your life.

Course DESCRIPTION:
Meditation is the practice of learning how to be present. When we learn to do so, we can then respond in wiser, more peaceful ways to life’s challenges—and more deeply embrace its joys as well.
In this workaday and fast-paced world with a constant stream of information and news coming our way, it is easy for us to become distracted, anxious, and/or disconnected from ourselves, others and our purpose in the world.
Couple that with the very real economic, social, environmental and health challenges we are all facing - together and individually - and one realizes the absolutely critical need to find ways to foster inner wellbeing and balance.
Regular meditation practice teaches us to see things more clearly, freeing us from our usual patterns and habits. It helps us to respond—instead of react—to life and its challenges. And to do so in a way that is loving, kind, and compassionate—towards ourselves and others.
But it takes practice! Learning to meditate and/or deepening our practice in a supportive group environment with an experienced teacher can make all the difference.
During this six-week course, we will focus on learning to find an anchor for our practice (usually the breath); techniques for stabilizing the mind; becoming aware of and working with - not against - the body, feelings, emotions, and thoughts in a compassionate, wise manner; and offering ourselves and others lovingkindness.
Assisting you with establishing a regular practice that works for you will be a primary goal.

FAQ
What if I have no meditation experience?
No prior meditation experience is necessary. If you are a brand new beginner, this course will introduce you to a variety of meditation practices. If you have experience with meditation, this course will undoubtedly introduce you to new ideas, provide you support for your practice, answer questions you may have, and offer a community with which to practice.
What if I can't make all 6 sessions?
It is best, of course, to attend all sessions, if possible. However, I fully understand that sometimes a class must be missed due to prior commitments, illness or emergencies. In the event that you need to miss a class, I will send a follow-up note with a synopsis of what was covered, as well as the homework for the week. It is also highly advised to purchase Sharon Salzberg's wonderful book, "Real Happiness" as an additional support and guide.
What type of meditation do you teach?
The tradition I practice is insight meditation. You may also have heard this called mindfulness, awareness, or vipassana meditation. It is the practice of being present for what is occuring in our lives. While there are many different meditation traditions, my personal perspective and experience is that insight meditation has the most far-reaching effects—and is the most practical in terms of truly making a difference in our daily lives.
What payment methods do you accept?
There are a variety of payment options. You may pay with a credit card, via PayPal, which also allows for direct bank payments, or you may pay via check.
Whichever payment method you choose, please note that registration is not final and your space is not secure until payment has been received.
If you are interested in setting up a PayPal account, it is easy and free. All you need to set up an account is an email address and a credit card. Click here for instructions: How to Set Up Your PayPal Account.
